HAES SYSTEMS FUSION CONTROL PANEL
FIRMWARE FLASH PROGRAM UPDATING INSTRUCTIONS
Procedure
for updating panel firmware
Tools
required:-
A)
Program
download adapter FSB25 / FSB25-V , SWPROG-USB or SWPROG-RS232 this connects from
Laptop PC to 10 way ribbon cable connector
B)
Fujitsu
Flash programming software
installed from Fusion programs dongle or data CD.
C)
Latest
Firmware files, supplied in folder :- FIRMWARE UPDATE
FILES in the dongle or via an update e mail. (please register with tech support
for this service)
Procedure:-
A)
Power
up the panel.
B)
The
main display PCB (FSB17) must be updated first
C)
connect
the 10 way ribbon cable from the program download adapter to the download
adapter socket top right corner of the FSB17 PCB
D)
Start
the FLASHPROG.EXE (Fujitsu software)
E)
F)
Ensure
the COM port setting is correct for your adapter, The
baud rate and device type are set as shown above.
G)
Click
the browse button to select the file to program this will be in the form
fsb17#3_v112_b0.mhx and
will be supplied In firmware update files folder on the dongle or via an e mail update.
H)
There
is a different file type for each type of PCB i.e fsb17#3_v112_b0.mhx for display fsb11#2_v112_b0.mhxfor loop cards and fsb18#2_v112_b0.mhx for radial cards,
I)
please ensure you select the correct file
J)
Click
the automatic mode button at the same time as pressing the target board cpu reset switch to start the programming sequence . On the display pcb this button is to the right of capacitor C34 near
the middle of the PCB it is a small silver switch with a rectangular brown
button labelled above as S1.
K)
IMPORTANT ! In order to start the program
sequence it is necessary to press the CPU reset button on the board required
within 1 second of clicking the automatic mode button.
L)
The
software will show progress in the bottom of the window. When it has completed
press the CPU reset again to restart the processor.
M)
To
program boards on the lower chassis it is necessary to select the option 9. in the level 3 engineers menu ‘Set Flash programming mode ’ once
enabled (FLASH PROGRAMMING MODE ENABLED)
is announced on the LCD display.
N)
Select
the file for the slave boards in the programmer software (click browse button).
Make sure you select the correct file for each board type fitted i.e. loop
(FSB11) or
radial (FSB18).
O)
Click
the automatic mode button at the same time as pressing the target board cpu reset switch to start the
programming sequence. On slave boards this switch is located at the bottom
right hand corner of the board if you reach in with a finger on the right hand
edge of each pcb you can feel the switch about half
an inch up from the bottom terminal block (roughly in line with the R/H edge of
that terminal block. On smaller panels it may be necessary to remove the
batteries to gain access to the CPU reset switches.
P)
There
is a slight knack with getting the timing right of pressing the cpu reset switch. I tend to hold
the cpu reset switch down
then click the automatic mode button on the PC window. I then release the cpu reset switch and the sequence
will start indicated by a series of ticks on the progress indicator. Anyhow if
you get it wrong you can try again no harm is done.
Q)
It
is necessary to press the CPU reset button on each PCB in turn, only one PCB
can be programmed at a time .
R)
Each
PCB should be reset prior to moving on to program the next one. A yellow tell
tale LED will pulse when the board is running the software. All lower boards must
be flashing in order to be able to start a new flash programming sequence if an
LED is extinguished you must press the CPU reset on that board to restart the
software.
S)
When
all boards are reprogrammed and restarted exit the engineers menu by pressing the
menu button and the panel will reset and start running with the new software.
If there have been any parameter changes in the new software the panel may
display NOVRAM error faults see below for initialisation procedure.
Note:- It is advisable to
carry out a re initialisation of the panel parameters when new firmware has
been loaded in case the parameter blocks have been changed.
To re initialise the parameters.
WARNING!
All panel settings will be defaulted please ensure you have a backup of panel data
from a previous download (Note- customers with beta version software with no
download will be unable to perform this step and must create a new file from
scratch.)
A)
Set
all program mode switches on all PCBs to ‘ON’
B)
Enter
access level 3 in the panel menu,
C)
Select
set panel parameters
D)
Scroll
to No 10 initialise panel parameters
E)
Select
each board in turn and confirm initialisation for each one in turn
F)
When
completed exit the menu and set the number of boards for the FSB17 display PCB
as requested
The panel
may now be downloaded or auto-learned as required.
